Efferon

Adult

Efferon LPS

A CE-marked, single-use multimodal extracorporeal blood purification device used at the acute settings to treat sepsis, septic shock, cytokine storm, and endotoxemia.

In the multicenter randomized LASSO trial, treatment with Efferon LPS was associated with faster resolution of septic shock and improved hemodynamic stability, including a rapid increase in mean arterial pressure (MAP) and reduced vasopressor requirements. Patients treated with Efferon LPS also demonstrated shorter shock duration, earlier weaning from mechanical ventilation, reduced ICU and hospital length of stay, and improved early survival compared to standard therapy alone.

Intended use

The device is intended for extracorporeal blood purification via an extracorporeal circuit. It can be performed as isolated hemoadsorption mode or in combination with RRT, ECMO and CPB. Inflammatory mediators and endotoxin are removed from patients' circulation. Timely administration improves vital functions and hinders progression of multiple organ failure in sepsis patients.
